There are rankings for everything these days. Best places to live, best places to retire, best places to visit. But there is something different about a ranking that measures happiness, not just amenities or affordability. And according to one of those rankings, one of America’s absolute happiest places is a tiny Virginia town that most people have never heard of – Charlottesville, Virginia!
The pace is slow, the people are friendly, and the streets are lined with the kind of local businesses that give a place character. The surrounding landscape is beautiful, with mountains and water close enough to make outdoor time a regular part of life. Virginia has plenty of charming towns, but this one has an extra layer of something that is hard to quantify.
